[857] We know that the mother of Elias and Andrew Jackson Laster was named Sarah. She is listed in the 1850 TN census along with Elias and Jackson and age 49,in Decatur Co, TN. A Sarah Lasseter is also listed in the 1840 TN census along with two males, 5-10, male 15-20, and female 10-15 and her age between 30-40. This seems to be the same Sarah in both census. Also, in the 1830 TN census, a James Lasseter is listed, 20-30, along with wife, 20-30, one male, 5-10, and one female, 0-5. This data fits with the 1840 data, assuming James has died or left Sarah.With a lot of speculation it may be that Sarah's maiden surname was Watts. In 1850 it has been discovered that her son Elias was living with Joel Watts. It is speculated that Joel may be a brother to Sarah. This is not yet confirmed. In a recent e-mail from Misty Bloodworth, Dyesboro, TN, she mention that she mentioned that her gg grandfather was James Laster whose first wife was Sara (William or Williamson) and that his second wife was Dovey ??. This could be the same James.
